  1. graphtec fc7000-130 tracking

Not what I was talking about. There are two kinds of straight. The machine feeding the media straight and the media loaded in the machine straight. The first kind of straight, feeding straight, is pretty much inherent in the machine. You can keep the feed and grit rollers clean and grand...
  2. How to slow down FC7000-75

The variable you want is 'Conditiion Priority' in the Background Settings, set it to 'Manual'
  3. graphtec fc7000-130 tracking

Sheets or roll? Either way, running dead straight and square is usually more aesthetically pleasing than it is absolutely necessary. As long as the media stays under the feed rollers and the image fits onto the media, it really doesn't matter all that much. Within reason, as with all things...
  4. FC7000-130 Vinyl falls of the rollers???

Shrug. Most plotters I've used don't, it's always been a software function. Which makes more sense than a plotter setting. Doing it as a plotter setting would require firmware to keep track of the largest aboslute X value achieved. It's far simpler to do in the software, it already knows the...
  5. FC7000-130 Vinyl falls of the rollers???

"Advance After Plot" is a function of your software, not the plotter. In Flexi it's specified on the 'Advanced' tab on the Cut/Plot dialog. Bog knows if and where it might be on other software.
  6. new machine is driving me crazy

Turn on the Auto Pre-feed function. It defaults to 3' which is sufficent unless you have some specific reason for setting something else. This will tend to keep the roll of media on the feed rollers. For small rolls less than 5-10 yards, set the Auto Pre-feed speed to slow rather than normal...
  7. Data Cable Length

I have a 16' or so extender on my FC7000-75 original cable with nary a problem. USB can go a goodly ways. It's the Centronics parallel cable that has some serious length issues.
  8. Vinyla Advancing

If all is correct in th Flexi then it sure sounds like it's the plotter. You might want to take a tour through the plotter's settings and see just what is what. I've never seen your flavor of plotter but most every one has settings for this and that. Some of the settings can be pretty obscure...
  9. Vinyla Advancing

See if you don't have some value other than 0 in the vertical position field on the General tab in the Cut/Plot dialog. That would be the dialog that you appear to have confused with the Production Manager. The Cut/Plot dialog is what appears when invoke the Cut/Plot command from Flexi's...
  10. LXI Master Plus

They lie...mostly... It depends on just what objects are in the Corel file. If you Save As... and specify cmx exchange format rather than cdr you'll find that it works more often than not. Even then some things, like drop shadows, will disappoint you.
  11. Registration Mark Question

The thing with registration devices is, unless your twiddling a vernier on a printing press, you want the device to be as large as possible. This makes for more accurate and easier manual registration. So make it the biggest thing on the image. What I do is cut a constant frame around the...
  12. Adobe type 1 fonts and XP Pro

It would just up and quit or go totally catatonic seemingly at random. Both Draw and Photopaint. Invoking the help pages seemed to be a sure fire way to lock it up. But then sometimes not, as I said, bizarre. With the SP2 installed Corel seems to have gotten a grip and behaves in a predictable...
  13. Adobe type 1 fonts and XP Pro

Disappearing font mystery unraveled Hah! Just messing around hoping for inspiration I did Control Panel->Fonts->Tools->Folder Options. I figured that since the fonts directory is just a special case of explorer it would show the same boring things that any other iteration of explorer would. But...
  14. Adobe type 1 fonts and XP Pro

8 variations of Poppl Laudatio. Unfortunately, a favorite of mine. I came by them by throwing a temper tantrum with Sign Warehouse and they sent me these 8 type 1 file pairs. Probably to shut me up. Interestingly, the fonts were served properly prior to the SP2 installation. Afterwards, nada...
  15. Adobe type 1 fonts and XP Pro

I have this small handful of Adobe type 1 font files, actually 8 files all variations of the same type face. I have two machines both under Windows XP, 1 Home, 1 Professional. I just upgraded to service pack 2 on both machines and lo, on the XP Professional machine these fonts are no longer...
  16. Newbie Software Questions

Ahhhhh...Just what KIND of outline? With or without full backing? It sounds very much like you're specifying a outline without full backing. On the outline tab on your Design Central dialog, which box, the one with the red center or the one with the gray center? If it's the one with the gray...
  17. Newbie Software Questions

I assume that the text is one color and the outline is another and you want to cut one and then the other. If that's the case then you either do not want to use 'Send All Colors' or you need to specfiy 'Pause Between Colors' or disable the colors you don't want to cut by right-clicking on each...
  18. Clipart/Font Management & Print Software

Be thankful to whatever gods there be that there isn't any universal tool for this sort of thing. While it might be nice to do something like this as a reference for yourself, the last thing you want to do is allow your clientele to pick their own typefaces and decorations. In this comedy...
  19. FlexiSign 7.6 and Eye candy 5 Impact

Twaddle. I don't have PS installed and I use the Eye Candy plug-ins from Flexi daily without any problems whatsoever. You can install them anywhere that strikes your fancy and then set the path to them in Flexi via Edit->Preferences. The only caveat is there's only one path to specify so all...
  20. can't allign text inside of eclipse

I'm not sure how one would go about 'allining' text to 'the' 'eclipse' or anything else for that matter, but to align text to the bottom inside of an ellipse... Create the text and the ellipse in any order. Select the text, Text->Fit Text To Path and select the ellipse. The text will be...
