  1. Gerber Edge Dongle

If you read the descriptions closely on the GSP site, none of them are full running versions of the Omega program. They are updates only and require you to have a correctly installed version (from CDs) on your computer. Therefore, you need to install either version 2.0 or version 2.5 from Gerber...
  2. Gerber Edge Dongle

Tony Teveris will hopefully weigh in at some point here. He's the guy that writes Omega and can tell you exactly what is going on. My educated guess is that it will go back to your installing the 2.1 update on top of an installed copy of Omega 2.5. I'm frankly surprised that it would even do...
  3. Gerber Edge Dongle

I think you would be best off to either contact Gerber or one of their distributors ... a distributor being my recommendation. A few points to consider. Omega 2 needs to be installed from the Gerber supplied CDs and using the Gerber supplied password that is printed on a card that comes with...
  4. What is it?

I just opened it using Corel X3 with no problems. What version of Corel are you using? Did you manually select PDF as the file type?
  5. What is it?

You should be able to open it in CorelDRAW.
  6. Digital vs thermal transfer printer

This is true for CMYK but costs are lower with spot colors. Also no need for color management with spot colors. Very much like classic screen printing. In addition, the workflow is much easier with thermal because there is no need for drying time or lamination. And, there are no ventilation...
  7. Dan Striker

This happened 15.5 months ago guys. :omg:
  8. Can you tell me this font?

    Pretoria AKA Storybook
  9. Can you tell me this font?

    Yes I can.
  10. Gerber Envision Problem

That sounds like the one serious repair I ever encountered with my Envision. If the blade holder is not moving up and down (Z axis) then you may need to replace your entire tool carriage. The part costs around $1,200 and is medium easy to install. If no one else can offer other help, I recommend...
  11. Name that font, please

    Bauhaus Medium
  12. Best masking tape? Not premask.

We've been using 3M #2020 tan masking tape for years. It has a good grab and releases with no adhesive residue left behind. We get it at Home Depot.
  13. Font ID Needed

Can you get a bigger pic?
  14. Font ID Needed

Looks like Antique Olive Nord (AKA Incised).
  15. Gerber Swivel Knife Assembly

That definitely sounds wrong. My blade holder caps are probable at about a turn and a half to two full turns before the blade begins to be exposed. I doubt that you can buy just the cap but it would be worth checking into.
  16. Gerber Swivel Knife Assembly

Yes, you got a helluva deal. I paid $10K for mine 14 years ago. My Envision has been in continuous operation since 1998. I think I've cleaned and lubed the rails twice in all that time. I've replaced the blade holder twice ... each time it was because the internal bearing went bad and there...
  17. Words and their definition.....................

It sounds like a corollary of The Peter Principle which has been part of the lexicon for more than 40 years and is as true today as when first stated. Your post is, however, political and has already received a political reply, therefore ...
  18. Gerber Swivel Knife Assembly

I know of no alternative. Fortunately, they don't go bad very often. I'm on my third one in 14 years.
  19. gerber edge and plotter cables etc.

It's out of the norm to the extent that Only a very small minority of Edge owners use SignLab to drive it. The overwhelming majority use Omega. The SignLab thermal module, while I'm sure a competent product, is still an add-on module and not at the heart of what SignLab's authors had in mind...
  20. gerber edge and plotter cables etc.

The main thing I would say to you is that you are stepping so far out of the normal setup that you're going to have a hard time finding any kind of support ... especially from other users. Using the four corner targets will cost you about 10% of your available print height which you will miss...
