  4. got 1 of 3

The top is Race Sport. Got that. The O1 is similar but can't find it. It is actually (I am told) the letter O and the number 1. The last is the name at the top. I have some similars but haven't nailed it yet. TIA
  5. New guy interested in pricing thoughts?

We consider 2 things in pricing. 1) Cost of materials 2) What we want to net an hour and a margin that we want to make We take that and come up with a price. For example, if we want to net $270/hr and have a cost of materials of $1800 and have a production time of 3 hours and a margin of 50%...
  6. printing for larger companies

You can send them a W9 on your own. As far as insurance, I wouldn't give them anything other than your contractor number if you have one. If you are not doing installs then the W9 is sufficient.
  7. US Tariffs, Sigh!

There will be no tariffs. Don't worry about it.

  10. Embroidery patches

We only use magnetic hoops unless where are doing a very large patch over 10". Then we heat the material to make it easier to hoop.
  11. Selling business - worth

That is the buyer's problem. When you purchase you get all phone numbers associated with the business as well. That is important as well as a non-compete for a fixed time and radius around the location as well as not poaching any current or future customers in that timeframe.
  12. Embroidery patches

Yes, we buy white and black in large bolts. Other colors in 16" rolls. We order the buckram in black and white by the bolt as well. Our car and motorcycle clubs keep us busy.
  13. Embroidery patches

We have been using buckram for all of our patches since we started doing them. I agree though, the twill can pretty much hold up without it. We do it just to make them not seem flimsy.
  14. Selling business - worth

A simple valuation would be up to 2.5 times net plus fair market value of FFE. In California when you do sell the FFE is taxable via sales tax so that would need to be collected and submitted as well. You can also try one of these calculators...
  15. Embroidery patches

I have never found that glued on patches stayed on. The thickness isn't the glue but the backing or stabilizer used on the patches. They can be sewn without that to make them 'thinner'. We pretty much do all of our patches with buckram for a stabilizer and glue unless the customer doesn't want...

  18. Freezing (stops responding) overnight VS-300

Thanks for the suggestions. So far it is in the same spot since 2014 so overheating because of placement shouldn't be the cause. I doubt I am getting a firmware update for a 2009 machine but I will check on it. I wasn't printing overnight and my computers never sleep. I have tried the...
  19. Freezing (stops responding) overnight VS-300

This has just started. Happened twice now. The blue light is on solid. The machine won't respond to any inputs except unplugging it and re-plugging it in. Then it works but the next day back to a solid blue light. Any thoughts on what I should be looking at?
  20. Feed issue solved on my VS-300

I finally got the feed issue fixed. The symptoms were having the feed all over the place no matter what the settings were. They wouldn't even hold from a perfect print/cut test to a print cut. The more rows on a single run, the worse it got. Here is what happened. A while back the plug on the...
