  1. Roland TrueVis VG2-640 Issues

I've been running 2 sg2 last 9 months (8hr per day at least) and have been trouble free. A friend has a 5 month old sg2 where the scan motor started making odd noises and roland replaced the motor. I know it's the opposite of info you're looking for but just throwing it out there to show there...
  2. Roland temperature

I see no difference in printing at 60 degrees f to 90 degrees f with very low to very high humidity and everything in between. i turn off ac/heater when we're not at the shop so it can be as cold as 40 degrees or as hot as 90 when I start the printers and there is no difference
  3. What Price for Vinyl Only?

Something repetitive and easy to weed like this project I would just charge 3x of the material cost (vinyl/transfer tape) but remember you are bidding and if you want to win you might want to be a little more aggressive with pricing, even doing this at 2x of material might be worth it to someone
  4. cleaning on its own

    Normal
  5. Help finding wholesale trade companies stretched canvas print

The most difficult thing I've found with stretched canvas is the shipping cost, safely shipping a 48"x36" 30x20 and 40x30 will cost more than the material and labor cost in the canvas. that's why they cost so much. A 50" x 38" x 4" box is major dimensional weight, I just did a UPS quote and...
  6. Shop Pics

Messy = busy , if we have time to clean = not good. added a new peice of equipment today, 144" keencut. Can't wait to make a huge pile of trimmings tomorrow.
  7. Safe temperatures for storing sign equipment ***

My ac can barely keep it at 82 degrees when it's close to 100 outside here in Houston. No issues with materials, only time I get problems with tranfer tape from high humidity is when it's low 70s outside and not hot enough to run the ac.
  8. Constitutional Carry in TX

I couldn't image not having a gun in the car after driving with one ever since it became legal here in TX. Really does feel safer. Anywhere on a driving trip gun goes with me and in the hotel/airbnb
  9. Constitutional Carry in TX

Im in TX, I think if this goes through it will not drastically change the number of people carrying. Everyone I know owns a gun and everyone keeps one in the car but even the ones that have a chl rarely carry. It takes proper clothing and habit to always carry. I hope it does goes through...

  14. specialized film mounting device on board and premask

Its ok for pre-masking small sections but the manual method with a WEBERmade or similar is much faster and less prone to messing up. We go through 4-5 rolls of transfer tape per day and have settled on an application table and webermade by hand. We gave the highway handyman a fair try and it...
  15. specialized film mounting device on board and premask

It works but not as easy or good as my CWT application table. It is a cheap alternative to an application table but definitely better than applying manually or some other way. If you build a good table around the hwy handyman and with some practice you should be able to mount 4x8 boards but an...
  16. specialized film mounting device on board and premask

I have a 36" highway handyman with the transfer tape attachment that did not work out for what I intended to use it for, practically brand new. Lmk if interested
  17. Time for a new printer

Since there is a lot of hate for print and cut Ill list some pros of print and cut and how I use it. Printing/cutting anything on phototex, no dry time or lamination required and full bleed not an issue. Saves me time moving to separate cutter. Click one button and the decals/murals/wall paper...
  18. Time for a new printer

That's odd, my prints are dry by the end of the day if it's heavy ink load on cheap vinyl, on phototex dries in minutes
  19. Time for a new printer

Forgot to add, the tr2 inks blow away previous roland inks like eco sol max if you've used older Roland's. 3m warranty on the prints too with these new inks
