  1. print/cut alignment driving me crazy

Not sure if you got them or not but the part number for the outside roller assy is 6000005883 and the middle ones are 6000005781. The first part number is labeled as R but I believe the only difference is the orientation of the wheel. The outside wheels have a taper, so I think you just need to...
  2. Roland GR-540 no longer cutting

Yes, unfortunately if you are not able to be on the Windows version previous to that specific update for any reason, you won't be able to get it to work with Cut Studio. Roland is working on a patch for the GR (They just released one for the GR2), but we don't expect to see that for another...
  3. Need Help VS640i - Print status goes to 100% without printing

What do you mean that it prints but that you have no control? Do you mean that it prints like normal sometimes, but that sometimes it will just do that and not print?
  4. Graphtec 8600 Not Accurate

I would a run the following test to narrow down the issue to one of to major categories, either the tracking, or the cutting. Load a roll or lon gsheet, and put a piece of tape on the cutter where the edge of the paper is. Then feed it forward something like 10-15 feet. Then feed it back. If it...
  5. Graphtec 8600 Not Accurate

I know you said you have the pressure settings all the way up, but when you lower the pinch rollers can you verify that there is no play in any of the roller if you wiggle them. Only ask because as a Graphtec technician, a common issue with the 8600s is there is a little piece of plastic on the...
  6. Roland GR-540 no longer cutting

Sounds like everyone got it figured out, but if it helps, this was actually a known issue by Roland. That windows update messed up the communications for a lot of Roland cutters specifically. Until they update their drivers, Roland themselves will tell you to roll back the windows update.
  7. NEED HELP IN THE WORST WAY! XC540 Acting very weird!

That's getting pretty old for a scan motor, that may well be the issue...
  8. NEED HELP IN THE WORST WAY! XC540 Acting very weird!

These are the steps from the manual for that error code. Base on my experience of the most common issues, I would hazard that the scan motor is likely going bad. The scan motor gets a lot of wear and tear on it; might help to go to the history menu and see how many hours it has. - Confirm...
  9. NEED HELP IN THE WORST WAY! XC540 Acting very weird!

did you run a linear encoder setup when you replaced the strip?
  10. Epson S40600 Questions

My two cents as an Epson tech as well. Wefixprinters is right on, I would just add you probably want two people to remove the heater, one to hold it while the other unplugs the cables. When I first removed one, I was confused by the connectors and they are a bit hard to see, but they all have...
  11. Printer Not Recognized

I am not a network guy, so I can relate to being confused with everything, I also could be totally off base as to what the issue is. But, as a tech I had a customer call because they had the same thing happen, so I can at least suggest what I did to fix it. 1. Open command prompt and type in...
  12. NEED HELP IN THE WORST WAY! XC540 Acting very weird!

Hey There! Alot going on here, so I apologize if I misunderstand anything or suggest something you have already done. It also seems like there may be multiple things going on, so I'm going to start with just a few things. 1. when you replaced the encoder strip did you ensure that the carriage...
  13. Printer Not Recognized

    Hey Brian, still having issues?
  14. S40600 No autoclean

Never seen that, maybe try updating the firmware?
  15. TruVis VG#-640 Blade

    Certainly!
  16. TruVis VG#-640 Blade

I'm not a media expert, but googling those vinyls and seeing they are 2 and 3 mil thick, I think you just need the standard 45 degree all purpose blade, linked here from Roland's website. (Part number USA-C145) https://dgastore.rolanddga.com/45-degree-3-25-offset-blade-5-ea-all-purpose-usa--c145--5
  17. Getting a new Epson Printer!

As a tech that works on Epson S80s, I would say the most common issues are head related, electrical problems and, pump caps. As for what you can do: 1. Do the regular physical cleaning but take care NOT to wipe the down the actual nozzle face of the head, just the frame. 2. Keep the printer on a...
  18. bad cut on Graphtec 5mm tal letters

This is a very good thing to check, looks very much like what you get with a loose carriage
  19. Printing on Epson Sure Colour S80600 cutting on Roland GR-640

  20. Printing on Epson Sure Colour S80600 cutting on Roland GR-640
