You must never visit gas stations. These are everywhere and we have printed 100s if not 1000s of these on corrugated and banner. Corrugated is a perfect cheap outdoor material for this.
Like OP said print direct, score, trim, pack and ship. Extremely easy and profitably product.
Just bought one from Seal. Haven’t used it enough to give a detailed review but it works great. As mentioned above, idiot proof and extremely easy to use. Was able to reduce our mounting area from 24’ down to 12’. Love the additional floor space and ease of use.
Different medias will run at different speeds for printing and cutting. Corrugated vs magnet cutting is totally different. 1/2” foam vs 3/16” foam is different for cutting.
Most of all our materials are printed on the same speed but that is not the normal on most machines. Cutting can be a...
How easy is it change materials from corrugated, acrylic, ACM, wood, etc? The Digitech is going to be a fraction of the cost of the Onset. Not even factoring in service contract…..
So true. Think about the headache this job could become because you tried to save some money on materials. Quote what you would normally use and sell on quality. There is always somebody that will do it cheaper.
Depending on your budget, look at Digitech. They have a fully automated print>cut system. Printer offloads to conveyor that feeds to cutter. They have it setup for several different cutters. Print quality and speed is beyond anything else I have seen.
Would definitely stay away from a hybrid. The second you get something in that isn’t perfectly flat it will create a ton of headache. Been there and done it. Ran two HP FB’s for years and they were slow and absolutely zero vacuum. Don’t know a ton about the HP latex but have definitely...
We run a Highlead (very similar to Juki) with double needle, folder and puller. Have had it probably 5 or so years with no issues. We bought it from Henderson Sewing in Alabama (ask for Bruce). They are very knowledgeable and responsive from what I remember. Sewing is about the only thing...
I have always heard people say it, but I can attest it is very true. Buy more printer than you currently need. The Digitech was very intimidating and over kill for us when we bought it but we very quickly grew into maximizing its production. We have seen significant growth with the machine...
The latex machines are plastic toys. There is no real production out of those machines. They look cool and you get the fancy HP badge but they will eat you up with consumables and service contracts. Not to mention adding heat to printing flatboards is the worst idea I have heard. LED is the...
All valid reasons for keeping the machines, but you may also weigh the pros and cons of upgrading to newer machines. I don't know what the cost of these upgrades are or what all is involved. What I have experienced over the years is you may want to sell machines while they are still worth...
We run everything on quality (gloss and matte) except for 3mij180cv3 which we run on specialty. It’s slow but it looks really good.
We only get banding from time to time in cyan. Everything else looks great in quality modes.
We bought it primarily for signage, banner and decals. We do not...
Troy is right. With a good white ink system it’s not a problem. We run 2 white heads in our TruFire LTX2 with no problems. We treat it the same as all the other heads and have been smooth sailing for 3.5 years. This is the only machine I have seen that will run a good white at 1700 square feet...
Terrance is exactly right. We do tons of aluminum and ACM but it is always a pain. When we buy .080 reflective sheets from Grimco and print direct and route it does a great job. But when you print/laminate/mount it is quite the mess. We have tried up flute, down flute and all sizes of bits...
Have had our Digitech LTX3 for about 3.5 years and could not be happier. We bought a second colex last year and had it built for the Digitech>colex conveyor auto cut/finish system but have not invested in the additional conveyors required. Was looking to get real world experiences on it. It...
