  1. Sp540v roland

Is it possible your media is slipping or too heavy in one of those scenarios, causing the feed roller/wheels to act different in each scenario? Seems odd.
  2. Hello from the frozen north!

I'm over in Calgary - just gave you a follow on insta - you guys put out great work :)
  3. COMPUTER CUT CHROME

Here's that Hexis Chrome - looked like this after about 12-14 months. I reinstalled quite a bit of it and the re-installed pieces are now peeling again. Shop I bought from said nobody else had issues with the film on that roll - go figure. This chrome did have a clear cap (which was removed)...
  4. Recommendations for cleaning acrylic?

Here's a conversation within RapidTac vs. soapy water. Is there alcohol within rapidtac? If so, enough to be concerned with crazing on a flame-polished panel?
  5. COMPUTER CUT CHROME

I can tell you what not to use - Hexis Chrome wrap I did an install for a client that was intended to be "high end" - various text, logos, etc. (not a wrap) - opted to use a wrap chrome for high quality, rather than a regular 2mil/3mil wet install chrome. I assumed higher price meant better...
  6. How to install laminated window perf vinyl on the storefront?

This is generally how I do it as well (similar to installing large etch or tint panels and needing a clean finish. Reason I ask is because I've seen other installs where they just overlap a 1/4" and leave it.
  7. How to install laminated window perf vinyl on the storefront?

What's the group consensus on paneling perf? Slight overlap from panel to panel, or butted and then "edge taped" on a seam? Original poster - don't forget to use edge tape around the perimiter of your graphic (clear or black cast 1/2" pinline tape). This will make your install last much...
  8. 80's prismatic decals how to make?

Either find a film that will take-on ink, or print to clear film and laminate it to the foil film.
  9. Suggestions Graphtec FC9000-160 Large Window Tint Plotting

No answer for you. But wondering why you're trying to cut it in the first place? I'd be bulk installing and trimming on glass for something that large.
  10. Graphtec CE5000-120 (Flexi) - blade drop (slamming)

I ended up upgrading to a FC9000 54". A good chunk of $, but worth it for my business. I have kept mind around as a "parts machine". I'll probably end up stripping the parts off it - let them die on a dusty shelf for years, then eventually come to terms with not needing them any more, lol.
  11. Graphtec CE5000-120 (Flexi) - blade drop (slamming)

Unfortunately I didn't fix it. I was able to run the machine for about 24 months like this. It eventually came to a point where the blade was not holding it's down force during a cut and would bounce like a pogo stick. I ended up buying a new machine. I did change the LED reader that reads...
  12. Discussion How do you charge Vinyl letters cut with a plotter?

Every job is different. I usually ask "How much would I pay for this?", vs. "what value does this provide to the client and what are they willing to pay to fulfill their needs?". For really detailed, high volume jobs. I usually bill a material cost + a cut fee + bill my hourly rate to weed...
  13. Should frosted vinyl be installed on the interior or exterior side of windows on storefronts?

For me - always on the inside when possible. Always wet install. I install a lot of this film. I push the sale this direction every time if possible. - helps retain the visual feel of the glass - makes it last longer - allows you to install in almost any conditions The effect is meant to mimic...
  14. New to me FC-9000 (metal grit roller rubbing?)

I did remove those fronts screws but the black apron didn't seem to budge. I didn't want to force anything. For clarity - I do or do not need to remove the larger plastic ends (or maybe just one side) to remove the steel plate (silver)? Or is it just the black apron that needs to be removed...
  15. Reliable QR Code Generator?

What would be a good QR generator that allows you to alter the URL re-direct after the fact? As well, something that helps you track clicks? I know there are companies out their with a "pay for it" model. Curious if anyone's utilized this for marketing campaign tracking?
  16. Condition setting: Acceleration

Good explanation, thank you. So 1 would mean slow acceleartion - therefore on small cuts it will be more uniform and not "zip" through the cut as fast. On larger simpler objects or high volume, I can probably afford to run at 3-5 just to keep things going faster. Agree?
  17. New to me FC-9000 (metal grit roller rubbing?)

Where I'm pointing to the roller (front, is where it rubs). The silver plate is wedged a little bit right now, so it's not rubbing. Removal: I'm guessing that the main side panels come off pretty easy just from the 5 screws on each end? or is there a fair bit more to it?
  18. Suggestions Large Wall Graphic - Application Tape Question

I'd mask it personally. I can't see someone peeling a 2-3mil vinyl off a backing sheet well enough to know what they're doing. Just make sure to roll it on a core, and tell them to let it sit out from the packaging for 1/2 a day before they install it. Walls are pretty forgiving for...
  19. Condition setting: Acceleration

Searching for the life of me in the forum, online, in the graphtec manual. From the manual "How to Improve weeding ability" -Set the SPEED and ACCELERATION values as low as possible. I understand Speed, Force, Offset, but what exactly is acceleration changing in the machine? My guess is that...
  20. New to me FC-9000 (metal grit roller rubbing?)

No visible damage - plate looks flat. From what I can see, there's the one screw on the left of the silver plate, which has allowed me to slightly lift to wedge the paper under. It appears to be secured elsewhere as it doesn't move around too much. Not sure I want to be ripping this machine...
