This is generally how I do it as well (similar to installing large etch or tint panels and needing a clean finish. Reason I ask is because I've seen other installs where they just overlap a 1/4" and leave it.

Good explanation, thank you. So 1 would mean slow acceleartion - therefore on small cuts it will be more uniform and not "zip" through the cut as fast. On larger simpler objects or high volume, I can probably afford to run at 3-5 just to keep things going faster. Agree?

I'd mask it personally. I can't see someone peeling a 2-3mil vinyl off a backing sheet well enough to know what they're doing. Just make sure to roll it on a core, and tell them to let it sit out from the packaging for 1/2 a day before they install it. Walls are pretty forgiving for...

No visible damage - plate looks flat. From what I can see, there's the one screw on the left of the silver plate, which has allowed me to slightly lift to wedge the paper under. It appears to be secured elsewhere as it doesn't move around too much. Not sure I want to be ripping this machine...
