  1. Mimaki Jv300

Damaged or dirty encoder strips can cause a stair step effect that sort of skews your image and also overspray. A bad cap top will cause nozzles to drop out and cause banding but it can also cause nozzles to partially clog which will also cause overspray. The cap top should be replaced once a...
  2. JV300 130Plus Problems

Thanks for updating us. I was thinking an encoder issue but this makes sense.
  3. Mutoh 1624 E075 Err Head Temp

Head heat errors mean the head is heating up due to a short. Check the cables and replace if they are damaged or dirty. If it's not the cables, it's usually a damaged head but it can be another electrical issue deeper in the machine as well.
  4. JV300-160 plus

When you change it, once it saves, try turning the printer of with the main power switch. Sometimes you have to do that to get it to save for some reason.
  5. JV300-160 plus

You can try to contact Mimaki and ask for it but they might tell you to get your dealer to do it. They keep them on file there. It's probably a good idea because there are a bunch of other parameters that have been initialized that are specific to your printer and the new CSV file will bring...
  6. Mixing Aftermarket and Genuine Ink Cartridges

Ask the third party ink manufacturer. Sometimes the answer is yes and sometimes no. It depends on the manufacturer. We sell the Bordeaux brand which is considered, "pour over" which just means you can swap them in as you run out of the OEM ink without flushing.
  7. JV300-160 plus

Yes, changing it back to a 1 will indicate it's a JV300 but now that your parameters are initialized, you might need to run head alignments etc. as the old settings are gone unless you downloaded the parameter file as a backup first.
  8. Can I use Mimaki 20/20 ink in Roland sp540i

In this image, an SP-300 with Mimaki inks with Roland chips on them and running fine. Disclaimer, we don't use this printer to make a living. Try at your own risk but it does work.
  9. Roland SP540

It will probably print ok but not great. While a head soak and some cleaning could recover them, I would expect to need to change both heads fairly soon, especially the black cyan head, which will run you about $1000. Have them print out a service report and check the head firing count. The...
  10. Leaking Roland Epson DX7 printhead L1440-U2

If the head is older than 3-5 years, it is more likely. Anything over 5 is very good.
  11. Credit Card Companies

We've had people buy a printer with a card and in those rare cases we do add a fee if they absolutely have to use a card.
  12. Leaking Roland Epson DX7 printhead L1440-U2

It's possible but cross contamination tends to be a partially clogged cap top that isn't draining fast enough, a bad damper, or a failing wiper not making good contact with the head.
  13. Credit Card Companies

Bake it into your pricing. Customers tend to see the fee as your business expense and can get angry that you're making them pay it. Bake it in and everyone's happy.
  14. Question Print factory colors not matching PF swatch book

Maybe try Flexi's RIP since you already use their designer. Should be seamless as far as what you're trying to do.
  15. Question Print factory colors not matching PF swatch book

I'd search your settings in both the save dialog in Flexi and Print Factory. It's possible that when saving the file in Flexi that it's converting spot colors to CMYK or something similar that is erasing your spot color from the file. In Print Factory, maybe there's a toggle button to turn on...
  16. Mimaki ucjv 200 series

You probably won't get a lot of answers as the first ones are just shipping. In my experience, new models almost always come out with some rough edges that need to be smoothed out. Since you're starting out, that just adds more learning curve to the whole process. That being said, based on the...
  17. Question Print factory colors not matching PF swatch book

Yeah it's probably just a disconnect between the way each software handles the spot color names. You could do a quick test by creating a spot color and name it exactly how it's labeled on your Print Factory swatch. Then print it out and see if the color is correct. So where Flexi might be naming...
  18. Lets discuss Roland Inks Eco-SOL Max, Max 2 and Max 3

I don't know if this is true for Roland but Mimaki and Mutoh have had ink upgrades throughout the years and the main changes have been lower VOCs and faster drying times. I've spoken to a 3rd party ink manufacturer and they said the main difference for them is they just use the same ink and put...
  19. Latest in AI News(Test forthcoming)

AI isn't super resource intensive once the model is trained. That won't stop the computer manufacturers from selling you an "AI ready" computer with overblown stats for what people will actually need.
