Just thought I'd follow up. Seems that I've narrowed down the issue to the blade offset setting. I'm using the 45 degree (red cap) Mutoh blades and had the machine set to the recommended 0.50 offset, but I've found that turning it down to around 0.30 / 0.35 (still need to dial it in) is...

Just gave this a shot - was hoping this was it as I hadn't tried it yet! Unfortunately the same issue still happens with the blade holder from the working cutter. I'm really not sure what it could be at this point - maybe a motor issue? It's so strange.

The strip is very new, changed it first thing when I started having problems. Compared to the strip on the working cutter it's had barely any use. Thanks for the suggestion though, I wish it was just the cutting strip!
