I believe there is a program called VNC that allows you to remotly access other workstations. We opperate all our printers, which have there own computers for ripping, from computers in any room and even from home. That's just what I have observed, I wouldn't have the slightest on how to set...
  4. Breaking bits on MDO

The router I'm using is a 6mm collet and therefore I can't get a larger bit such as 1/2" I don't do too much MDO, but the next time I'm routing some, I'll adjust my RPM and depth of cut for more chip, less dust. Thanks for the advise GVP. :thankyou:
  5. Breaking bits on MDO

I've had the best success with .18 onsrude bit. 2 passes at 80-100 IPM. I did break a few bits when using the same size downcut bit. It was too much compacted dust on the 2nd pass. I run the router at 40,000 RPM so there's no shortage on speed. I could crank the feed a bit, but it starts...

  10. What Brand CNC Are You Running?

Our shop has a Kongsberg i-XL 24 with the 5x10' table. It has the multi-head and can route, knife cut, kiss cut, vibe-knife cut, and crease. We use it constantly with great results. It has a box-builder program so no more ordering from U-line. The software is a breeze to use. Had some...
  11. the truth about CNC machining...

What mgieske said, get the catalog. I learned alot from it in regaurds to speeds on certain materials. I have a Kongsberg i-XL figured out pretty well, but it took alot of time and testing. Onsrude offers good prices on bits, and a very wide variety. Have fun and good luck.
  12. Routing CoroPlast...How do you do it?

Hi Barry, I've had similar problems when trying to route the coroplast. My solution was to use the knife cut attachment at about 80IPM. If you have to make contours it seems to work great. For straight cuts I stick with the stand-up cutter and a nice sharp blade.
