  1. Summa Flatbed F1612 router motor died....

Hi guys, wanted to share some info on this subject in case someone may have the same issue. Our motor just stopped in the middle of a job Wednesday afternoon and I took it to a local electric motor shop who took it apart and found the brushes were the culprit. This motor shop really didn't work...

  3. HP Latex 800 upgrade to Canon Colorado 1650

Thanks for the heads up Mark. Yes, if I can find time to get away it would be nice to see one run in person, perhaps I can bring some test files along to see if the workflow would indeed improve and make our life a little simpler? Look forward to your reply.
  4. HP Latex 800 upgrade to Canon Colorado 1650

To answer your question, it's probably mostly due to quantity. We do about 100-150 banners (4x4 and 4x6 size) per month on average for some of our retail accounts. Prior to doing these on UV, we were doing these on solvent, and would print all the fronts to a roll, then cut them down and them...
  5. HP Latex 800 upgrade to Canon Colorado 1650

Can anyone attest to the ability to print 2-sided banner or poster on the Colorado? We have several clients that do a lot of double sided banners for indoor POP stuff, it's a very smooth 13oz blockout. Our workflow now is to print the front side on our Mimaki UV, and then cut down and back up...
  6. Looking for Onyx profiles Mimaki JV-300-160 Plus...

Just got our new Mimaki JV-300-160 delivered and now looking for existing profiles that will work with ONYX. *NOTE - we are running our machine dual CMYK - SS21 inks. **Found some on 3M's website, but not sure if their "8-color" is dual CMYK, or something different? Couldn't find anything...
  7. Ujv100 - q60

It does to some degree, I honestly don't know how many times/passes it also automatically cleans as it prints - something I wasn't used to with our 1624 Mutoh machines. Again, have been very happy with the machine and it seems very efficient and miserly on ink usage from what I have experienced.
  8. Ujv100 - q60

Have had one since last October/November. Machine itself is great, very efficient ink usage, fast, low-maintenance, print quality is very good. We primarily use ours for banners/posters/down and dirty vinyl jobs that don't require lamination. We have done some experimenting with wrap films on...
  9. Opinions: Epson 60600 vs. Mimaki JV300-160 for wraps?

We've pretty much been a dedicated Mutoh shop since we opened, and now that our pair of 1624x printers are approaching the 3-year mark, it's time to upgrade. Not going back to Mutoh because AFAIK 3rd party ink isn't available yet, and Mutoh has increased the price drastically on these new...
  10. Mimaki UJV100-160 vs UCJV300-160?

Well, we settled on the UJV100, seems like a better deal considering we don't need the features of the UCJV. Will report back with an update once we get it installed and printing!
  11. Mimaki UJV100-160 vs UCJV300-160?

Looking to add our first UV roll to roll machine at our shop. Really like the Colorado's but price point is more than our budget, and they seem to be machines made to do long runs and we change material many times throughout the day. Anyway, looking hard at the UJV100-160 and the UCJV300-160...
  12. Mutoh 1324 Clogged Head

Could be several things, but I am going to say it is probably a damper issue from experience. Over time, sediment/particles from the ink tend to clog the dampers and don't allow ink to go through or cause starvation. Do yourself a favor and replace all of them while you are in there working...
  13. So... looking like our old CET flatbed is done. Suggestions?

What is your budget, and what types of materials do you print most often?
  14. Flatbed Cutters - Cutting Mats

I can only speak with experience on the Summa.... Remember, the Summa flatbeds "map" their bed for any imperfections (high spots, low spots, etc.) and keep these in memory for every type of cut and tool. (You can run this as often as you like to keep everything current.) In addition with...
  15. Need new flatbed - Advice please (NOT HP...)

We entertained the idea of getting white ink but opted to stay away from it for now. Regardless of the machine, it seems almost everyone I talked to said unless you're running white ink frequently it becomes a problem due to the characteristics of it. I think the HP R-1000 and 2000 machines...
  16. What do you consider "color matching"......?

Well...frustrated is all I can say at this point... The "reprinted" tent canopies arrived last night - I opened up the box and it appears there is NO DIFFERENCE in the color between these and the first batch. Even though I tweaked the color much darker and uploaded new files for them to print...
  17. Need Help Mutoh 1624 ICC profiles

Both 3M and General Formulations have decent profiles for a 720 profile - we use a variation of either of those for most of the stuff we print off our 1624s.
  18. Need new flatbed - Advice please (NOT HP...)

Have been very pleased with our Vanguard VKM-600, it's their mid-level machine. We opted for a 2nd row of heads, it prints very nice and is quick too.
  19. What do you consider "color matching"......?

BTW - this is my exact email I wrote them yesterday for reference...I wasn't rude and felt like I was pleading for them to help me... Good morning, I am well aware and do understand that different materials can cause color shifts and that different printers can print differently. (I have...
