In what way is the Trufire system than other systems that recirculate?
  2. Fluid color Kyocera white ink reliability

Curious to hear from anyone running the Fluid Color (handtop) Kyocera UV flatbeds and what the white ink experience is like? We print on clear substrates and use white ink on all of our jobs and find that white ink reliability is our main struggle (oce arizona 2280) and will be looking for a new...
  3. Lamp shutters making loud sound

Anybody have any experience with a sudden change in the sound their lamp shutters are making when closing? Like some signal upstream is telling both of the motors to be more aggressive in closing them. I can live with sound but its probably a sign that something isn't operating right. Printer is...
  4. RFID and ink type

Great info, just the answers I was looking for!
  5. RFID and ink type

Does anyone know if changing the RFID from 256 to 257 on the Oce Arizona printers does anything other than control which inks are used in the system? For example are there any adjustments made to the way inks discharge, meniscus pressure or anything? My guess is no, that these machines are not...
  6. Oce Arizona Lamp Error

Damn, so much good info here, thanks. Going to go through all of this starting with switching the whole lamp units. The model is 2280 XT
  7. Oce Arizona Lamp Error

Anyone familiar with lamp errors on the Arizonas? We will send a job and it will complete it but then generate a (left) lamp error and turn off. We replaced the lamps with no change. Fans appear to be working fine. Is there a local sensor that could be bad?
  8. Win the Sherlock Holmes award

No, meniscus has not been measured. Did not see any ink in the meniscus filters and did not replace. Ours reads below 18 on screen pretty routinely, but I know that is not generally accurate.
  9. Win the Sherlock Holmes award

We replaced the ink filters by the bags and the 2 white reservoirs, on this machine there are no filters in the carriage. I don't see any black powder but don't know what motors are being used either.
  10. Win the Sherlock Holmes award

We did a complete flush 2 months ago when we changed white ink brands. Replaced the filters at that time as well. One thing we notice is that we get low reservoir notifications on the white inks, after a purge of course but also sometimes during a print. Is there anything related to the ink...
  11. Win the Sherlock Holmes award

Wow, I can't believe it. What a design failure to kick forward for so many generations of printheads. It looks like you are correct, there is block of nozzles that commonly go out that are perfectly in line with one of the tubes. How is it you know this to be the case, have you worked as a Canon...
  12. Win the Sherlock Holmes award

Thanks I will check it out when I am back in tomorrow, I see the logic to what you are saying. I will be disappointed if that is the case though, seems like print heads less than 2 weeks old should not have any sediment.
  13. Win the Sherlock Holmes award

After a half a year of struggling with white inks we decided to replace the three most problematic white print heads on our Arizona 2280 (only 1 shown here). With some remote support we did the job ourselves, having never done it before it was moderately challenging but everything worked out...

  16. Setting inkset in Oce Arizona

Which number 1-10 is used for 256 inks? My white inks are Nazdar 256 while everything else is 257 but I can't get the Nazdar supplied RFID stickers to work.
  17. Procedure for draining coolant from Arizona 2280

I am going to be doing a printhead replacement (first time, wish me luck) I have a service key and the instructions for that part but not for draining the coolant. Anybody have a service manual they want to copy that section for me, or describe the process?
  18. Print head drops out completely and comes back

As a means of troubleshooting I have been bleeding air every morning. Since then I have not had the head go out completely, I just struggle with more ordinary groups of missing nozzles that I can eventually recover. Might be multiple things going on, perhaps air in the line + old print heads...
  19. Where do you go for supplies

It might be .25" tubing, not sure, but I also know that the ink will degrade many types of plastic. I will see if I can get more info on that.
  20. Where do you go for supplies

I need that small section of hose with the fittings that comes off the filter and is used to bleed air on the Arizona 2280. I am seeing vendors like Digiprint Supplies selling tubing but they don't list he 2200 series specifically in their specs. Any pointers appreciated.
