  1. HP Latex - need help taking a decision / your advice & experience would be highlly appreaciated

As an ex-photographer with some years of experience in the print & sign field i can tell you this - based on my personal experience i can tell you that the latex printers are good for decent canvasprints which you don't need to varnish. But do mind that the color gamut of an HP isn't the same as...

  4. S160T vs S2 160T: what's the difference?

To come back to my initial question: I bought a repaired S140t which has been repaired with an S2 motherboard and color display (i think this is the solution when one has a black and white display which needs to be replaced). My question is (should anyone with Summa tech roots know about this)...
  5. S160T vs S2 160T: what's the difference?

Hi Phil, Its an S140 which has been repaired due to fading monochrome screen, as such the mainboard and display has been swapped out. So does that instantly upgrade it to an S2 then? Minimum width: ok thanks for pointing that out. I prefer to have two middle pinch rollers, just like on my D160...
  6. S160T vs S2 160T: what's the difference?

aha so you can add extra pinch rollers to an S140T? Oh and for info i only now got a 140T (an S1 with the mainboard/color screen kit). Frank do you know if the lan port will work (it's not soldered onto the mainboard but it seems ready to be soldered on there)? Thanks all :-)

  9. Is an HP Latex Printer "Safe" in a Small, Unventilated Office Space?

it's not so the ink, its the vinyl which get's heated which can smell awefully. One vinyl smells better than the other. Also heat could be an issue in such a thight space.
  10. The sound is making me crazy!!!

Maybe there's a way to change the fans rpm if that's the sound source? Put a resistor on the connection to slow it down, will lower the pitch. Maybe there's a way to lower the rpm in the firmware, no clue if Epson allows that. Another thought: put a small filter in front of the fans grid, maybe...

  17. Trying to settle on a printer for home production decals.

The 315 has a maximum rated power consumption of 2.6 Kw. A normal electrical extender takes a maximum of 3.5kw, so as long as you don’t connect too manu devices on this extender you’ll be fine. You can connect othe extenders to the same wallmount/electrical group as longs as you dont overpower...
  18. Trying to settle on a printer for home production decals.

Yes all but on paper, for that i've got my pigment Epson printer (but off course you could print those on the Latex too). I mostly do stickers and fleet decals but also print on banners and some wraps.
  19. Trying to settle on a printer for home production decals.

Yeah i dont need to heat the room where the hps are in the winter, thats my way of saving on the electric bill. Quite logical as most substrates heat at around 100-110°C. Luckily the electric cost per kw is going down again
