  1. Estimate Sign Pricing Software

Do you have their newest email address? Try this : estimatesoftwarecorp@gmail.com Phillip Komar is the tech guy there.
  2. Quickbooks Online - EstiMate Desktop

Estimate is still in business. We have used it now for the last 10 years. They have responsive tech support, they just haven't really updated over the years like they probably should. We have been thinking of trying Sign Tracker again so that we have a cloud based software. It was one we gave a...
  3. Quickbooks Online - EstiMate Desktop

We use Estimate. I asked years ago when we went to QB online. It still does not link to QB online as far as I know. I believe it was due to how the Estimate server is on a local computer & not cloud based. Estimate hasn't really updated much over the years unfortunately. They do have very...
  4. Customer sent me this ad/price

We explain that we are a small shop and don't match online pricing. We are not setup to print the volume that these type of companies are doing. There is no way we are going to be able to purchase the materials and make signs to meet or beat that price, even outsourcing from reputable suppliers...
  5. Waste Ink From Large Format Printers

We use Roland TR2 inks. Checked with our state on proper disposal. We were told to put it in cat litter & throw in the trash. We keep a bucket lined with bags, dump some cat litter in and drain the ink in, then top off with more cat litter. Then trash the bag every so often before it gets too...
  6. Pad Plugs- what to do with them

If you have the plastic ones, most of them are recyclable. A few are not. Look for the symbol/number on the bottom. The ones we don't re-use we save & take to our local plastic recycling center.
  7. Mock ups for Customer

Art Station has the Ford & Dodge. A couple older Internationals in the current 2024 version. They are the templates we use. www.artstation-vehicletemplates.com
  8. The next generation of adobe users now work among us

Or revert to an older copy of CC if you can and save the PMS swatches, then re-load the newest CC version and load the PMS swatches and you're good to go. That's our workaround. Pantone Connect was a mess to try and use for PMS colors & I believe was going to be an additional cost to CC.
  9. versaworks missed a cutline???

Yes, great point, still very relevant to this day. The CutContour stroke always needs to be at the top of the layer stack and the stroke centered. Another thing that can throw VersaWorks off in reading the CutContour stroke are transparencies that aren't flattened. Years ago Roland provided a...
  10. How do you store / organize your overs?

I understand the color matching. Same here. Although for the critical clients, we keep a print sample in their job folder with their previous job invoice/paperwork for reference to match back to should we need to.
  11. How do you store / organize your overs?

Absolutely! Good points there. We've had some customers bring in graphics that they've had laying on a shelf in their non-climate controlled garage for several years and then want to use them. Dates & we also make sure to notate what the customer part number is, since the part number isn't...
  12. How do you store / organize your overs?

We only send out the exact amount ordered as many of our corporate accounts aren't fond of having more decals sent than are on their PO as it messes up the inventory numbers on their end. We always fill the media with as many as we can print at one time. So if there are extra & it's for a client...
  13. Suggestions Airplane graphics

I know this is an old post, but thought I would share our experience producing & installing graphics on a very special plane, The Global Flyer that flew around the world...non-stop in 2005. We produced & installed the graphics on the lower blue portion of the fuselage back in 2005. As I recall...
  14. What grommet press does everyone use now?

We use #2 Nickel Fasnap grommets. That's always happened. We just poke them out if they hang up. We get some large format banners sent to us that we outsource & they typically have a few holes still left that they don't even take the time to remove before shipping them out.
  15. What grommet press does everyone use now?

That's the one we have as well. Built well and last forever. I worked for another company for a short tone that had mounted theirs on a stand in the shape of a tower so that it was rigged to use foot pressure. It was the craziest, hardest to use contraption to move around a production table. I...
  16. What grommet press does everyone use now?

Fasnap, almost 30 years in use and still holding it's own.
  17. Removing Decals...anyone use these Brothers chemicals?

We've tried the Vinyl Off several times over the years, it never worked no matter if we followed the directions or tried it other ways.
  18. Need Help VersaWorks shifting die lines?

I'm not familiar enough with your specific machine, but just a thought, not sure if you are printing, laminating and then re-loading to cut, but if you are clicking "get media width" again after re-loading to plot after laminating, that will cause your cut lines to be off.
  19. Need Help Need help to find a new supplier!

We are located in the middle of KS. We primarily use Fellers & have for decades. The KC branch is our "local" one. 1 day ship time via UPS for most items. We are also 1 day ship from at least 2 other Fellers warehouses. Used to be 1 day from their headquarters in Tulsa until a few years ago, now...
  20. New drying/offgassing box

Nice work! I built our crude one about 12 years ago or more. On it's 2nd cheapo box fan. Now the motor in that one is going, (they run 24/7) & the cheapo retail store plastic fertilizer rack I re-purposed has broken where I added wheels on the bottom at the corners. It's time to build a...
