  1. DIY Printhead Replacement

Here is what I learned about DIY head replacement. DO NOT DO IT! Mechanically, the replacement is easy. Trying to get a decent print is something else. Been battling it since Wednesday. Let that sink in. When you order a printhead they will gladly take your money then send you the...
  2. Inflation Versus Interest Rates

I'm simple and my mind works like millions of others in America. We were just fine two years ago. The end.
  3. Inflation Versus Interest Rates

So what happened to us being energy independent and a net exporter to the "resident" begging the Saudis for oil. Even went to Venezuela. Government can't set the prices but they sure can F#$k with them, or haven't you noticed? Basic economics for the oil companies. Why bother to drill...
  4. Inflation Versus Interest Rates

I'm a simpleton when it comes to this stuff. But there's an easy way to fix at least part of the problem and that is producing our own oil and gas. Why? Because EVERYTHING is transported with fuel burning vehicles. Truckers just don't absorb the cost of 5 dollar fuel and say oh well. Wasn't...
  5. A sign related food subject......................................................................................

Speedy beef is lean and tends to be dry. Can't go wrong with throwing it in the crock pot with some cream of mushroom soup. If the ground is gamey make sloppy joes with Coca-Cola and ketchup as the base. No one will ever know...
  6. Question sandwiching mdo with aluminum faces

If it were me I'd build a frame for some ACM or 0.080" aluminum panels. Not a fan of MDO for exterior applications and it's really heavy.
  7. Gans digital giving up on their media division...

Hmmm...maybe that's why BigFish has been absent from the forum.
  8. Help on font Please

Google this: wild west style font Lots of material and with a little modification several will work.
  9. Smooth Grays ?

Some colors are hard to hit. That gray may be at the limit of the printers capabilities.
  10. A-Frame alternative for windy, snowy open area

Never been ice fishing have ya? Some parts are like a superhighway, especially on the Great Lakes. 18" plus inches of ice is common.
  11. Credit Cards

This^^^^ I use Square. Are there cheaper alternatives sure, but I don't have to deal with or worry about PCI compliance. Love being able to take my mobile reader with me. Nothing like completing a job and getting paid right away.;)
  12. FONTS

I mainly use Letterhead Fonts and Sign DNA. You can snag some decent fonts from Google as well.
  13. Anyone on here move up in the rankings?

The smell is coming through the internet.
  14. A-Frame alternative for windy, snowy open area

Option 3. Once a plow guy bashes that thing full of frozen sand it will never be touched again.
  15. Bright green color code - Mutoh 1324X

Well, here's a color match trick I used to do many many years ago. Go to your local auto paint supplier and have them color match a spray bomb. Vinyl used to take paint really well. But YMMV. Before digital printers I used to do base/clear on vinyl for all kinds of special effects. Also...
  16. Bright green color code - Mutoh 1324X

There is a cast vinyl that is close to that. IIRC it's 3M Apple Green. There are some fluorescent wrap materials too.
  17. Opinion Need A New Heat Gun

For on site work I use a Rigid cordless but they are no longer made. I should have bought 2 right away. Best part is the battery is only used for the fan and igniter. Burns butane for heat. Otherwise I normally buy the Harbor Freight cheapies when they go on sale. Usually cost less than 10 bucks.
  18. Yard signs

Firesprint. They're a merchant member on the forum. High quality and quick turnaround.
  19. Question question about print width on a sp300-v

8mm is a lot. You can shift the pinch wheels so they hang over the media a bit but it won't track well over long distances. Honestly, if this is a one time thing just sub it out. By the time you get things dialed in you'll have wasted more time and material than the job is worth.
