I appreciate the insight. I was able to get this one to work on my vista pc using cut studio. And yea the roland was a little rich for my blood when i looked at it. But shockingly this cutter plotter from like 1990 stil runs like a top, and i would even say cuts better than the $3000 bren i work...

I was actually able to get it going with cut studio on ny vista pc. Like you said it allows you to select the specific port under the “cut” tab up top. Im not super tech savy so im not sure how it works but unlike going to the print menu and adding a printer it jast sends it through the port.

Any recomendations for a decent plotter for start up? Im really only going to be making vinyl decals but would like to be able to go atleast 20-30 in in width. Also being MAC friendly would be a plus being as all my designing is done on my mac.

Both programs i was able to get( listed previously) show they are compatable. Im using a usb adapter as well but still not able to register the plotter on my machines. If i go into my ports the usb device shows up but not the printer, if i go to print in either program no printer shows up, same...
