    I got the same problem on my SP300, changed wipers, belt, pulleys, scraper. Still didn't work, so i just jammed 2 pieces of plastic between the tensioner and the machine. Now it works again, I dont know if the tensioner get's weak over time or what, but it was a cheap fix that's works. Martin

    Roland VP-540 possible bad head?

    I would change dampeners first of all (they are a lot cheaper then replacing a head), had the same problem with my sp300v. Careful not to brake the stems the dampeners sits on when you remove them. I bought mine on https://www.digiprint-supplies.com/. (US website and EU website.)
