  1. Add job listings/job wanted section

I own a small wrap shop and am constantly on the lookout for more employees, especially more installers. I think it would be immensely helpful to business owners on here and installers alike to have a dedicated forum page for job listings or job wanted posts. Would this be possible to add?
  2. Rant Hiring Installers

Would you be interested in relocating? :big laugh:
  3. Rant Hiring Installers

Thank you! I'll check that out.
  4. Rant Hiring Installers

I would have to raise prices so much on color changes that it would end up being double the price of a paint job here. :( I don't see how the industry is sustainable if people have to pay 10k for a wrap.
  5. Rant Hiring Installers

Just wanted to rant for a second and see if anyone has any ideas on how to hire full time installers in the Midwest (Oklahoma) or if people on here have encountered similar problems. I own a small shop doing vehicle graphics only, and have been looking for a full time installer now for 3 YEARS...
  6. 3M IJ180 delaminating on contoured areas?

    About one year
  7. 3M IJ180 delaminating on contoured areas?

Has anyone else been running into problems with 3M IJ180 with 8518 lam delaminating? I thought 3M had fixed this on latex and haven’t had any issues for years, but all of the sudden a few wraps are delaminating in contoured areas. It doesn’t seem to be happening on flat installs, but...
  8. Premask messing up film laminate?

Yeah, I wish. These customers wanted to match their existing wraps that were all contour cut like this one, so we didn’t have any design freedom. They may just have to be happy with the decal solution going forward. ‍ You think the wrinkles will come out alright with some more heat?
  9. Premask messing up film laminate?

At the top of the panel there are a couple of long, thin stripes that the mask was applied for. Going forward I guess I may need to just mask the stripes and apply them separately as decals, I hate having seams on areas like that though.
  10. Premask messing up film laminate?

It was Rtape. That definitely could have been it. I had someone else installing it so I’m not sure at what point they removed the mask.
  11. Premask messing up film laminate?

We printed the same color on another piece that wasn’t masked though and didn’t have any issues with it, so I don’t think it’s a typical laminate issue. Thinking it has more to do with the mask but I’m not sure what exactly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Premask messing up film laminate?

Had a weird problem come up this last week where it looks like the premask on a wrap caused the laminate underneath to bunch up and separate from the vinyl in areas. This is IJ 180cv3 with 8518 gloss lam and latex ink. I haven’t had any issues with 3M and latex delaminating before, and it’s...
  13. Installer in OK City

If it’s a quick install in the metro area we might be able to fit it in later in December. Laura@wrapitupok.com Feel free to email me the details and I’ll put a quote together.
  14. Semi Trailer Price - Help

I’d probably be around $7k or so personally with cast vinyl and lam. That being said I know some people in the Midwest who are charging around $3k or so for a full wrap 53’ trailer, 3MIJ180 and not even printing in-house. Mountain Commercial sells the printed wrap for about $1500 for a whole...
  15. Pause on HP Latex 360

    Thank you!
  16. Pause on HP Latex 360

This seems like a silly question but I haven't been able to find the answer anywhere. How do you pause an HP Latex 360? We are having issues with the take-up reel and need to be able to pause the printer and correct the take-up reel before it jams, but there doesn't seem to be any option to...
  17. Need Help Ice damage on new graphics - how to stop from happening again

Does not peel off easily if you pull on it, it seems like it had a good bond on it.
  18. Need Help Ice damage on new graphics - how to stop from happening again

Thank you! DOL1360Z was the laminate used on the Avery, I’m not sure what type of liquid lam was used on the 3M. The vinyl was laminated and applied right away after printing but since it is latex, I don’t know that outgassing would have been an issue. There weren’t any chemicals on the tanker...
  19. Need Help Ice damage on new graphics - how to stop from happening again

I wish. I probably could with the Avery decals and some other things, but the 3M is printed for a larger brand with strict color branding standards, so they have to be printed.
  20. Need Help Ice damage on new graphics - how to stop from happening again

My client has actually worked with vinyl wraps before, so they know not to pressure wash them. Also, the 3M is cracking from the top down only rather than bottom up as would likely happen if it was due to a pressure washer. Very strange. The tankers store fuel for convenience stores in my...
