i was able to get my hands on the last 50yd roll of avery air release black that harbor had a few months back. haven't been a fan of avery since the debacle, but im diggin this roll of vinyl. it wasn't cheap, but it was the only 50 yarder anyone had in stock when i needed it.
the advice you're calling the worst is actually the advice you should be listening to the most.
yes, your client wants to reuse the panels and you are trying to make your client happy. BUT, as the sign professional you should know what's best for their sign and how to give them the best...
+1 for Boudica's idea. see if there's a school that could use them. elementary/secondary art teachers would love something like this. they could give each kid a chance at working on something large. if you have a vo tech school around you, check with them too.
also, odd suggestion, but...
EXACTLY! ive change plenty of client's minds simply be explaining that they'll put a little more money out now, but upkeep down the road will be cheaper and look nicer. of course there's always some clients that you just can't sway and they want cheap.
I would have made aluminum panels with the lettering on it attached them to the sign. most of the time, those places don't care what the sign looks like and will keep shopping around to different signs shops every time they need an update. i have had a few clients in the past that took my...
window perf is probably one of the easiest materials to install.
i second outsourcing it if you haven't done it before, especially since its just for one job. no need to get in a roll of material and laminate that will sit around. i'd also suggest Signs365 for the printing. easy to use and...
so i don't know if this is something that could help you in the future, but i include a line under the sign description in my estimates that says "includes initial proof and up to two revisions" ...if i feel the client is going to be a pita, then they only get one revision.
all proofs after...
i would walk away from it, personally. most vinyl doesn't stick well to unfinished wood and the ones that have an aggressive enough adhesion, the client isn't going to want to pay for because this is for a tradeshow.
i sub out my banners because i don't have the machines in house to print and hem. i'm usually between $6-8/sq ft with supplied art. this size, i'd be at 8, so $192
i use "everything" which is a super fast local search program. sooooo much faster than windows search. i just need to type in *.PRM and then delete everything it finds. i also have GSPplot set to ask me to delete archived PRM files when it opens.
i don't know why they cause lag with the...
have you cleaned out your PRM files? and the temp BMP files that are created when you import images, but then hang out on your hard drive for awhile?
since omega isn't a cloud software, if you're having a problem, it has to be something on your end.
i use transfer tape to make most of my vehicle templates when things are small and hairy.
but my vote is still to print oversized and trim down. i dont know a person that can drop a back window on that's cut exactly to shape and not have an issue. unless the window is totally flat, there's no...
suggestion: use vinyl banner material. won't tear and lasts forever. i have three catches like these for our machines and they've been in place about 16 years with no issues.
