They couldn't figure it out they ended up replacing our machine. Works great now has had to recalibrated for crop cut marks but that's it. All they could figure out is it was something from versaworks to the machine
No they didn't. Roland has since just replaced my machine with a new one and reinstalled versaworks. Now everything is working fine at the moment. They couldn't even get the other one to cut right themselves. I am glad I finally got help after 4 months of complaining.
Right on. That's what I'm in the process of doing. They just suck completely. I have a ton of work to get out and can't get anything done because of Roland.
So to update. Roland has yet to fix our issue going on a week down time. They came out and change the servo board cutting strip and new blades. Does the exact same thing uneven downforce cant cut to save its life. Don't know where to go from here but at this point I want to send it back instead...
So to update... roland tech seems to think it is the servo board which controls the power to the cutter. We went back to factory reset and updated the firmware and it started cutting great. Now a day later it's back to square one. Can't cut again. Roland is going to remote in and try to bandaid...
Just to update we now have a new problem with this machine. It now won't maintain downforce as it cuts and cuts through the vinyl and then not at all ruining blades and vinyl. We have jobs to be done with this weekend and we have to result to a $300 plotter off of Amazon that outperforms this...
I have honestly thought about getting just a cutter as well. I wanted to see if Roland can fix my machine first. It doesn't seem though they can or want to at this point.
We bought a new Roland VG540 from our local dealer about 6 months ago. Have had nothing but issues since purchasing it. The print is good but it won't contour cut to save its life. Way off on crop mark and print cut. Have contacted my dealer and they send a tech out multiple times and it works...
