THIS! I thought the laminate looked like the culprit too! I'll take a look at the tension. I don't think i'll go back to 40c either way, so thank you for the material suggestions.
I've used 3M 40c paired with 8509 laminate for years and never had an issue with it on flat surfaces.
Vehicles are a different story. Especially work/service trucks. Here's a photo of what happens.
This started 6 months or so after decal application and got worse over the course of 12 months...

Some desktop screenshot programs, specifically the 3rd party ones, have been known to store what you're screenshotting and personal images have been leaked online in the past.

Wondering if anyone has printed on Drytac Vizicling with success? (8mil Clear PVC Static Cling)
Printing on a Roland VG540 with TR2 Ink setup and can't seem to get a good result.
It's like the ink doesn't set into the material and spreads out before drying.
I've had similar results in...
VERY suprised how no one here has mentioned using a rubber decal wheel / pinstripe remover (the ones that attach to a drill).
I could have this peeled off and clean in about 15 minutes.
Yes it's in bad shape but it's not very big.
