1604 bad head?

According to everybody I've talked to this morning, my 1604 needs a new head. I'll never buy another Mutoh, this thing has been nothing but trouble.

Anybody have any suggestions about where to get this? How intense is the install? I'll do it myself if I can.

Help!

call the dealer you got the printer from. I think they are reasonable easy to install but the alignment is tricky. I'll bet the tech can do it in 20 minutes.

Been working on the VJ series for over a year and have NEVER replaced a printhead. What problems are you having?

Techs I met say that 2yrs is average for a printhead. They are consumable items like the capping station, dampers, etc....

It's been about 15 months and we don't use it as heavily as many shops do. Also, in that time the printer has been down about 10% of the time. Maybe I got a lemon but I'll try another brand the next time.

So, maybe instead of bashing and whinning, you could post a little information. Like what your problem is.

Is it just not printing well? Post a picture of the nozzle check and tell us what you have done to correct it.

dood...

you gotta dump that flute music on your website.... you are supposed to be running a business, not a mySpace page!

Pls post print head info for everyone. It is a new OEM Mutoh Epson print head... not a knock-off? Where did it come from?

Look, I may sound like I'm whining... but I have a legit complaint. I spent A LOT of $ on this thing and it hasn't run consecutively for more than 3 months in the 15 months that I've had it. We were on a first name basis with the techs for the first year. Mutoh graciously extended my warranty for 3 months after nearly every other part on the machine had been replaced and now... it breaks less than 2 months out of the new warranty expiration. To add to the problem, what I was trying to print was a patch to fix a very small install error by an employee on a box truck that is otherwise complete and promised for delivery. You'd be pissed off too.

It worked fine Thursday afternoon. Friday morning it's off and won't turn back on. Gives an error code about head heat (its low 60's in the office). Everybody I talked to said I need a new print head.

If I bought a new truck (similar price) and it spent 10% of it's time in the shop, then blew a transmission 2 months out of warranty I'd feel the same way. There's no difference.

We get these mutoh print heads from local mutoh dealer. Brand new in box; just like the one you got from your mutoh dealer.

$1,500 shipped.
