3m 3680 translucent...

A customer wants silver lettering in the back side windows of a Yukon.

I don't have any cast silver, and don't want to order a short roll for 3 feet of material.

I do have some 3m3680 translucent vinyl left over from another job.
The windows are flat, so I'm wondering why this film won't work,
other than maybe the repeated car wash visits that a sign wouldn't get.

Anyone tried it?

Thanks,
Tony

It'll work just fine... it's just kind of a "waste" because it's a translucent film and it's not needed.

It's also not going to be glossy like the opaque silver metallic film.

Otherwise, go for it. It'll still last for quite a few years.
