46 Inch Mutoh Falcon?

I am looking for a bigger printer to step up to. I currently have a Gerber Edge and I pretty much outgrew it the day I got it. I have found a Mutoh Falcon Outdoor that I can probably get for under $500. The guy said it worked when he flushed and parked it, but he thought the ink may have gelled up because it started printing bad before he parked it. Would it be worth it to buy it and refurb since his price is so low?

print heads

Figure on
two new print heads
new pump
6 dampers
capping station

1300.00 + 500.00 to end up with a really slow printer. Find a used JV3 that is printing that you can see running. Stay away from the old Mutoh as parts are getting harder to get

I figured it might be a lost cause. Its a shame though, after talking to the guy Im thinking I could probably pick this thing up for much less than $500. He just wants it out of the way. He said it was just upgraded to pumps with metal gears.

I got mine 3 months ago. It cost me $600 to fix it up.
The tech from my area had 2 print heads handy and I'm the only one in this area that he knows with Falcon, so he gave me both of the heads for $300.

The printer is slow, but it is already paid off :)

Next year, trade it in for the new one.

Black Print problem

I have a Mutoh Falcon Outdoor 46. Recently the black stopped printing.

I changed:
Data Ribbons on top of machine.
Ribbon going from printed circuit board on top - to Print Head
Installed New Print Heads
Replaced Damper and O-Ring
Replaced Maintenance Station

I checked and pulled Black Ink thru the line leading to the Damper.. no air bubbles.
I pulled black ink from the bottom of the damper.. no air bubbles
Went to the waste tank and pulled ink from the line leading to that head.. no air bubbles.
Printed pattern and all show up except black, I am out of solutions.
Any help would be appreciated.

on the 46 has Black and 2 other colors. The 38 is the one the black head and the other has 3 colors.

Can you pull the black into the damper??
