%age of spot colour fill changes everything

Not sure that makes sense but I have a graphic and it is a pms gold 873...the client wants part of the graphic to be 60% of the gold.

When I highlight the graphic and change the %age to 60, everything in that colour choice changes to 60%....How do I isolate just one element to be that shade without effecting everything in that colour?
