Any Summa Tech's in the Audience?

Below is from the service manual. Is there something specific that you are doing that is causing the error? When does the error show up?

E10016 Internal error %i!

Internal errors are failures on the mainboard itself. Reason can be hardware or an firmware error (such as division by zero)
Internal error %i: Number of error is needed when board is returned to Summa. Number is not important for technicians)

Reboot cutter. When problem is not solved, upgrade firmware when possible.
When cutter does not want to boot disconnect all cables of the mainboard except the 24V power (J3) and USB connectors. Check if machine does boot-up and continue trouble shooting.
When error is fatal the mainboard needs to be changed or returned to Summa.

What Chris suggested is correct. Here's the exact snippet on the error message from the service manual -

So, you could try updating the firmware first, but if that doesn't clear the error then you most likely will need to replace the mainboard.

It was cutting a job just fine, then stopped mid cut. It was complete froze. So I powered it down and when I went to turn it back on, it just gives me this error code.

$2,700 is the cost for the part, and I am checking on current availability for you now. Not sure if I will have an answer today, or if it will be tomorrow morning, but I will update you once I hear back.

Are there any other troubleshooting things in the manual for the E10016 error?

Hi Matt

Just wondering if replacing the main board fixed your problem? We are getting exactly the same error on our F1612. E10016 internal error 5

Thank you

That it did. I got the parts from Airmark and installed them myself. Wasn't too hard.

Thanks Matt, great to hear I have ordered one from ND graphics here in Canada as they are our supplier. Wondering did you send your old one in for repair to have a spare on hand?

No. I just have it sitting here. I was told it would have to be sent to Belgium to be looked at. With no gaurantee it could even be fixed. Wasn't worth the expense to me.

Hi Matt, just recieved our replacement board, did you get any special instructions on replacing it? There is a QR code to scan for instuctions but says we are not allowed to view. Just not sure of any special steps you may have followed, the board is in the machine but just getting surface profile error and doesn't seem to recognize the adc. Do you have a replacement instructions you could share? Thanks in advance

I am not seeing any papers with the stuff I saved. Have you ever been into service mode? That is where you need to run the service profile, using the drag knife with the pen AND cap installed. In there also is where you will need to turn on the ADC.

Hi Matt, thanks for looking I have gotten into service mode and done all the necessary calibrations now thanks again for checking. I will probably send our old board back for service, will keep you updated on what that costs us.
