Any VG Tru Vis users out there?

We just bought a new VG-640 and are having an issue, If anyone else has one of these machines can you shoot me a PM, the issue seems to be related to either the machine or the new Versaworks Duo rip.

Sorry for the vague question, but I would rather not say what the issue is until I confirm that it is indeed an issue.

Is that a known issue? When we print a customer supplied file that has black, the printer is laying down TONS of ink, to the point where it almost looks like an embossed UV print, it dries, but it is super glossy.

When we print a file we create ourselves using 0,0,0,100 for black, it prints great, but customer supplied files with rich blacks such as 30,30,30,100 are printing super thick. it's almost like the rip isn't applying the ink limits properly.

we jsut came from a roland VS540 and never really had these issues. I assume it's the new Versaworks Duo rip that is the issue, it seems a bit buggy, rip times have increased from 30 seconds to 15 minutes for the same files in the new version.
