Applying printed vinyl to used back lit face

Hey guys, I have a back lit face that has existing vinyl. Customer is being cheap and wants me to remove old vinyl and install fresh vinyl.

I know there will be ghosting on it but would printing on white back lit vinyl and applying onto the faces diffuse the ghosting from being shown? The design is too many colors for cut vinyl so i will be getting it printed and laminated.

Thanks!

I have done it successfully while worried about the ghosting and it didn't show. You could also compound and polish the face, which I've also done. Just add in the difference to the bottom line if you recondition or add ghosting clause to your contract.

Don't try to make chicken soup from chicken sh*t. Explain to customer, remove old letters, clean the face, apply new vinyl, collect your money! Not necessarily in that order!
