Attaching Sign Panels To Large Trucks?

player

New Member
I am looking for a way to attach sign panels to different styles of recylcing and waste trucks.
My client has many trucks and as they can break down, he wants a way to be able to remove the sign on the side (48"-54" x 8'-10'-12') and fasten it to another truck.

One way is to rivet aluminum sheets to the bodies. Another would be to make bus style
framing. I am wondering where I could get the tracks that bus advertising uses.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Can they be applied to a slightly curved surface?

Any other suggestions? What about buses and pvc sheeting?

I don't think these can be curved, but you could always call them to find out. You can also build an aluminum frame to make up the curve and keep the graphic frame flat.

It needs to be simple. I think building a substructure to allow the flat frame may be too much. Especially since the next truck may be completely different. The first idea is just riveting flat aluminum sheets to the area.

But these trucks have welds and are made up of overlapping sheets of heavy steel, so a frame might be better. The curve or bow/bulge of the truck body is not very large. Maybe 6"' out over 6' of height.

There is a local supermarket chain who has a neat setup for their delivery trucks.
Sailtrack framing with banners in them.
Easy to swap, cheap to supply once the frames are there.

Do you have any links to Sailtrack? I cannot find much, most references are UK sites.

Here ya go...

The Kedar edging, sewn all the way around the Banner, which can be slid into a metal sail track for a fast and reliable install.

If you want to spend more money, here is one of the best Keder frame systems:

Signcomp makes a real nice frame system. they will custom cut to your size
panel. comes in 2 sizes, (1) 3/4" wide and 1 3/8" wide. corners are all mitered

*just put one on a box truck, 4' x 8' 3m di-bond panels. 1 end comes off to
slide panel in and out. truck had rivets but the profile of the track was such
they did not interfere with the panel.*

I looked at the SignComp.com site and I cannot find or I have missed the profile. Could you help me find it?

I love these calls. This is where you spend 2 months trying to find a workable solution for someone and they end up not doing anything. Tell him to put a big laminated decal on side of truck and if it breaks down order another decal

why the hell spend thousands of bucks when hundreds will do the job. By the time you order this track, install and then all that jazz just throw a decal on the truck.

I did decal 3 trucks, and I am doing 2 more. There are a bunch more but because they break down and get replaced frequently he wants to be able to change them out. One concern I have is liability...

Thank you petrosgraphics, that frame will work perfectly.
