backlit film on translucent lexan

ok, this is maybe a stupid question...

I have a customer with 141inX45in translucent lexan in is sign. I've been able to remove the old vinyl from it to use it again. It was less than a year old and no shadows appear when lit up.

I normaly just sub those jobs to print it on a flatbed, but now I have to stick a vinyl on it. My questions are: what material should I use? Translucent film or just clear since the lexan is already translucent. Do I have to laminate it? Could I use static cling and reverse print to protect the ink (i guess not, but I have to ask).

The hole print is a ''special'' purple and the logo is plain white. He wanted first to use cut vinyl, but I wasn't able to find the right purple.

Thanks for you help.

the customer already know his purple will not be the same when it will be lit up. I just need to match it in daytime, witch is not a problem for me.

So translucent film it is with lamination.

Thanks for the help.
