Banding Issue... & Other Odd Annomilies

Yeah, I'm up late and struggling to get a couple of the nozzles to fire again. This time it's Cyan and Black.

The picture is obvious what I'm printing, that's supposed to be black in the corner there, and what's with that line thing. Doesn't happen across the print, only on the leading edge and past the squares.

The machine sat idle for a few days, and usually I can run a couple of cleaning cycles and if I have to soak the head for 15 minutes. Then everything is back to normal. But this time I've got new problems.

The file is CMYK, (Even though it's trying it's darnest to print composite K) and it's a series of 12 squares, repeated 3 times across 12" media through PM RIP. As you can see, the black graph-like lines go across into the second repeated image. And no, the print head isn't dragging anything. It's over printing a repeating pattern. No matter how many of these things I print.

It's starting to clear up the more I print... but here's an interesting thing that's going on.

That empty streaks in the leading edge, where the black square is... well, if I turn the image around and print with the Cyan squares leading, they have the same missing streaks.

If I print 6 groups, the second row doesn't have any leading edge streaking. Almost as if it needs to warm up to lay down consistant ink? I dunno...

Too weird to figure out this late, er... this early.

I'm going to lay down a color bar strip on the leading and trailing edges of my prints, if it's some kind of shake the dust off warm up the firing order or whatever.

That looks a lot like my prints was looking awhile back. Come to find out some how the machines settings got reset to its defaults. Double check all your settings, especially heater and pf adjustments. How old is your machine?
