Battery powered LED Signage lighting

this maybe should be posted in the LED section...but there didn't appear to much 'activity' there.

I am looking for a good solution / product to provide LED lighting / glowing effect behind interior signage! We have done a lot of dimensional Komatex signage that would be greatly enhanced with some glowing light effect behind them. Problem is, most often these displays are going on walls without power, OR we don't want an un-sightly power cord dangling.

I know there are companies selling battery-powered (ex. 2 AA's) LED strip lighting. These seem like a good idea, but I'm afraid they won't throw enough 'glow' or that the battery life will be too short.

Anyone have any companies / products they've utilized that they would share with me?

Here's one website I found with a product that may work as an example of what I'm envisioning:

Solar sounds good but...
I think I'd rather have the single wire than trying to package solar panels, storage batteries, controller etc...

Yeah...NO SOLAR! I'm looking for clean / simple (battery powered) solutions. A 110v plug-in would be less headache than solar panels, storage batteries & controllers.

Someone has to have used a battery powered LED system to give a dimensional sign some added flare!

Well you can make it work but you will be changing batteries very often. You should run the LEDs from a 12vdc supply or battery and there are some small battery packs out there that may work. You can run it on as little as 9v for a short run. You need to do some math though and figure out how many amps your pulling and then you will see that your going to drain your batteries daily.

We do lots of lit interior signs and the best method is to run pltc wire through the wall and up to a power supply above - much easier with a drop cieling
