best bulk system?

Have a Mutoh 1614, looking for opinions on a good, SIMPLE bulk ink system. As always prefer it to not cost more than my car is worth but want a good product still.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Call ColorWen ask for Steve 626-363-8859
He setup my Mutoh 1624 working with his bulk ink system $500 + ink $90 per litter.

Don't buy JetBest they will screw you up. We paid for their ink system $500 did not work, now I stuck with it. I cannot wait for Trade show in Las Vegas and Long Beach, CA, I will let all people stop by their booth know that they are bad customer services and products.

Was the JetBest ink for your 1624? I didn't think you could use that ink because the 1624 has a totally different head than the 1204/1304/1604/1614 series.

I use JetBest in my 1204 and it works just as well if not better than OEM, plus no color shift and the inks were plug and play with OEM.

I have a Triangle bulk system. I no longer use Triangle ink, but kept the bulk system. The easyfillpro has it's problems, but is a decent system.

If I were to do it again, I would buy a the bulk system that has the float valves in the carts to keep the ink level and optimum pressure.

Those are the way to go. At certain times of the year I have to keep certain tanks at specific levels in my bulk system or I get starvation. This is a common tank problem.

This is also a problem with refillable carts. You must keep the inks levels at a specific amount of they don't work.

The float valves take all the stress away from using a bulk system.

The best type is still semi-new (actually they have been around for a couple of years - much longer on the grand format side of things) which are ink bag based systems which keep your ink train a sealed system as it was intended and works best. There are a few out now but only for a very limited selection of machines so far. Mostly seems to be for Mimaki's but others cannot be too far behind. With a bag system you eliminate all of the over/under pressure problems as well as problems associated with air introduction and exposure.

If you are going for it though and a bag system is not available then make sure it at least uses floats as mentioned and that the cartrdiges either use an internal bag that collapses as ink is used or that are ventilated to allow air to replace the ink that is used. A sealed rigid cartridge cannot collapse as ink gets drawn out which creates a huge amount of negative pressure in the ink train....
