Best Way to Install Backlit Letters on Sheetrock Drywall?

I have to install a set of backlit fabricated s/steel letters that are 1.5" deep x 10.00" tall , there are 5 letters total, spanning 48" wide. These letters have white LED backlit with removable lexan back behind. The thing is I have to install inside an office building on a drywall and conceal the wiring. I can access the wall behind, but not inside the drywall itself unless we cut thru it. So as we need to hide the wiring , what is the best way? Cut a patch from the back drywall to access the wiring or drill holes all the way thru from the front to back? Any ideas would be much appreciated...

Is the back of the wall going to be seen? the thickness is only 4" with conventional 2x4 studs. you can always go completely through to the backside of the wall and make all of your wiring conections on that side, along with your threaded rod, fender washer and nut to hold the letters.

Are these letter raised off of the wall surface, or is the lexan extending beyond the letters and lit on the edges, with the lexan against the drywall? Your post is not really clear.

go behind wall and cut hole where letters are going, your gonna have to feed wires thru studs so as all wiring meets in one location. I would build a "shelf" between studs for power supply to go on. I would then make an aluminum cover for the hole where the power supply is and patch all other holes
