Blocked Nozzle on VJ1604

We have had our VJ1604 since October 2007 and in this time it has and still is a stunning machine.
Over the last few months I have had lines in our blue and green prints.
This I know to be caused by blocked jets on the cyan.
When doing a test print Magenta and Yellow are perfect.
We have one blocked on the Black and 3 Blocked on the Cyan with one slightly deflected on the Cyan.
It seems such a shame to have to replace the head as I have no issues except when printing these colours.

I think it is the positioning of the blocked cyans that is causing the lines in the blue and green prints.

Is their another way of unblocking these nozzles as head soaksing isn't working or is a new head the only to go?

Many Thanks

Not sure how you've been soaking your head, but I know I've seen others mention using a coffee filter soaked in solvent and then placing it on the capping station for several hours or even overnight. Not really sure about all the details, but perhaps one of them will chime in.

That said, 3+ years on a head seems like a fair return on your investment. Yes, they are expensive to replace but if you get another 3+ years it will be well worth it.

Basically I have been placing a couple of small pieces of lint free cloth onto the capping station then pour some cleaning fluid from one of the cleaning cartridges and then reposition the print head.
Then repeat every hour.
I don't like leaving it over night to soak as sometimes I get cross contamination and that takes a couple of hours to sort out.

I have heard of some success with ultrasonics and 'pushing' cleaner through the head, but it may be that the nozzles are not blocked, but have just failed.

The piezo material may just not be functioning properly anymore.

Look up syringing flush through the heads.

If that doesn't clear it up, nothing will. I've gone the ultrasonic route with little success.

Wile this may be considered unorthodox, take a LF swap, STAURATE it with cleaning fluid - no part of swab should be dry. GENTLY, NOT pushing, wipe the head from rear to front in overlapping passes, just touching the nozzles. Less pressure that the wiper would create. I bet you fix your problem. Repeat several times with a clean swab if necessary. You have nothing to loose. I've had to do this to my 1614 a couple times to get perfect nozzles tests. Would have NEVER done it unless a great tech showed me.

I bought those ultrasonic head cleaning equipment, ultrasonic can be effective getting ink to flow through the print head but it also damage the print head nozzles, now the nozzle are all cleared with really bad deflections. The ink shoots out like spray gun. Ruin the day and need to get new head. My printer is VJ1604 DX5 Print Head.
