boy scout logo's

It might be a little late to mention it. For a previous project made over a year ago I found authentic Boy Scout logos within PDFs at the Boys Scouts of America web site.

Resources like Brands of the World often have inaccurate knock off logos instead of the real things. Some of the logo re-creations are quite laughably bad. User beware.

Even the pdf's at corporate websites can be poorly done. I have run across many that require extensive cleanup. You don't notice these issues when printed out, but if output at large sizes then the problems show up

That is true, although some have their little oddities built into the authentic artwork as well. I'm far more willing to trust the validity of a logo grabbed out of a corporate annual report PDF than I would getting it from Brands of the World.

Overall, it reinforces the rule of thumb that any designer should get authentic logo art (along with color specifications and use guidelines) from the company itself rather than trying to circumvent the process by visiting unreliable web sites like Brands of the World. BOTW is, at best, only useful for basic comping purposes. I sure don't recommend it at all for any final artwork meant for production.
