Business Cards

When we do business cards, we usually do 16 pt. UV coated cards.

Today we had a customer come in with their old cards which look like some sort of clothe. I was thinking Linen. From what I can see they look like lines going both ways intersecting. The text is printed it seems but it is also raised off the card a little.

Anyone have any ideas what they could be? Who prints them?

Thanks!

Thermograph #80 Linen, any old school Offset Printing Company, or a company like BCT or AWT Wholesale

Sounds like linen card stock. The raised lettering is called Thermography.

I know grprint.com sells cards with linen stock. (They are trade only) I am not sure if they offer thermography though. Its used mainly for fancy stuff now not to many printers use it on business cards anymore as its more cost effective to do a 4 color offset print. Thermography is usually pretty pricey.

Thank you guys.

4over does a "Linen Uncoated" business card, which is what I think I need. This is their description off the website...

"All Linen stock is 30% recycled material.

Linen Text and Cover allows your print products to gain a unique feel and texture. It can enhance the appearance of your business package and will certainly make a grand impression."

Thank you Marlene, I just sent them an email! Any idea on price they charge for thermography on #80 or #100 stock at 1000 cards?

4 Over Linen cards are flat print, not raised.

Thats what I was looking for, thank you!
