Can You Print On .02 Polystyrene With The HP L260

Wondered if this has been tried. I'm doing a bunch of polystyrene tags. Will the polystyrene hold up to the heat of the Latex printer, and can you feed a sheet of the material into the printer?

If you can roll the sheet on to a core, you might be able to do it. I personally would not even try it. Print on vinyl, mount to styrene.

They make a styrene on a roll but it's .015 the printer has a limit of .017 as far as I've found.

Also styrene has a low melting temp so it may cause issues if you run to hot, we have done it in our old 260 using the hp low temp setting and 175degrees

Interesting on your .017 limit. I have run .030 magnet media on both the L25500 and the L360 without any problems.

That was for styrene... the thicker styrene warps due to the heat and causes issues.

we have tried running .030 styrene through the 25 and 26 when we had them and had issues but the thinner .017 and .015 didnt.

I suppose with .030 styrene is too rigid but thickness isn't necessarily the problem. I run a a lot of 18mil film through the L360 and it prints beautifully.

thickness is a problem on heat sensitive materials... the thicker they are the faster they warp.

Also the 360 and the 260 are very different in capabilities with these types of materials. I have run .030 styrene on our 360.
