Cap tops with Iron Sheet?

I need to order capping tops for my Roland SP-540v and found some that say they have "Iron Sheet", what does that mean?

What is the difference between with and without the Iron Sheet, and which type do I need for the SP-540V?

Thanks for any help on this

There are cap tops available with a metal sheet instead of the sponge. My experience with that cap tops are bad, the metal sheet have loosened sometimes and stick at the nozzle plate of the heads. Better use the caps with the sponge.

The Blank Metal cap tops used by Machines like True Solvent (mimaki S/SP-Series or Mutoh Spitfire) a.s.o. but he has no effect to the working as Cap Top with Sponge.

You can use both !!! Printhead surface never touch metall or sponge this is impossible:toasting:

I have an SC-500 uses the DX2 head type capping station and I use the screen with my cap top,, however I leave one layer of the foam in the cap top,, only remove the top layer of foam and replaced it with the screen. It keeps the foam in check so that it wont swell up and keeps the heads clean,,it seems to work for me just fine...
