changing a damper valve on a JV33

nashvillesigns

Making America great, one sign at a time.
I think i have one section of yellow that the ink drops out. i am running dual 4cmyk. if i swap the cartridge of yellow to its twin, the ink doesn't drop during my prints. when i entered maintenance mode, i opened all the valves and closed them to see if they were working. usually the relay board activates them with a "clicking" noise. guess what. one of the yellow does not work.i turned the "o" to "x" and no click.
my solution was, when i run out of ink, i just switch the sides to use the good side. i want to fix it now since it has been 5 months on nonstop work and am getting tired of babysitting this issue.
questions...
1. i want to check the valve gates again. i can't find the gate test in the menu for some reason. the function-remote powering up doesn't seem to be working here. weird.
2. how hard is it to change the cursed part? i know where it is, (i think) is it near the slider board, or over by the ink stations?
