Hi I am new to the group :) .I have a HP L28500 and just changing the encoder strip, on the left hand side as we opened the casing, a part fell out and I wanted to post a picture and ask if I have it in the right place, as now it keeps giving code that says there is a paper jam and there is no paper on the machine .Does anyone have an image of this so i can compare if it is in the right place please.
thanks kerrie

Hi Jim, thanks for your reply :)
the code is 86.01 ... we have a new encoder arriving today , the problem is we can't see how it should go from the manual images, we need someon who has this machine to see if it looks correct how we have placed it back in the machine, as a part fell out when we opened the left handside of the printer to take the damadged encoder out.
At first the orginal encoder was damamdged and the glue had come off, so we tried to glue it using high tem glue, adhesive tape..but after that is keprt saying the code 86.01.. I have the manual and tried everything it said, and it still wouldn't move on.So we have the new part coming today, but it's the putting it back in the machine, we can't see properly how it should lok when it goes in, on the left side.I have attached an image of how we have the old one and wanted to see if anyone could check it looks correct how we have it , so when we put new one in we won't damadge that one ..hope that all makes sense :)
thanks kerrie

on the manual photos here, you just can't see what it looks like underneath because of the angle of the manual photos.. and how it is under , just not sure if the part is in right place..thank you inadvance
