China Banner Welder

I'm new to this subject, we just invested into a 104" printer and I am never looking into paying my supplier again for banner/double tape.
He's probably got a new Rolex from the amount of tape I've purchased in the 7 years I've been in the business.

We are looking for an introductory banner welder and I've seen some options on ebay of mostly Chinese ones, does anyone have any experience with these?
What do you guys recommend? I do not print banners 24/7 but looking to invest under $1,000.

I ordered from alibaba 4-5 months ago, and it looked like this: http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Banner-welder-price_770201018.html (i dont remember where i ordered it from:)
It was 380 euros with shipping and taxes. It took 2 weeks to come, and nose wheel was broken when it arrived (and it looked like it was already used). We changed the wheel (found one from local market) and started using it, 10 minutes later some screw opened inside it and flew in to heater unit (or whatever it is called) and it short circuited. Luckily, new unit came in the package and we changed it.. Now it works, but.. welding seam is quite narrow, something like 25 millimetres. I would like it to be something like 10mm wider, but that can be easily done if we modify the tip of the blower. That seam can be as wide as that wheel that rolls over the heated banner, and atleast in my machine, there is 10-15mm to widen.
BTW, it smells incredibly bad when you weld with it, you need VERY good ventilation..

Typical of the Chinese, always sending crap in the mail. After doing extensive research last night I'm definitely going to stay away from China.
I saw Royal Sovereign has a beauty but $4k is just not worth it for me.

Interesting but it does not look like it is set up to join two panels very well.
All the tension would be right on the edge of the weld pulling it apart.
Guess you could flip it over and glue the hanging edge down to help support the weld.
I don't see an easy way to get good alignment of the images on two panels with it being fed into the welder face to face.
If it is just good at doing hems a double needle walking foot sewing machine would be faster and more useful.

I saw the banner pro yesterday and the price is great, I saw on a previous thread that some people don't really like the way it works.
I personally like the straight motion better and need it just for the edges not to join panels.
