CJV30-160 Powers on then shuts off

Hi All,

I’m new to the mimaki world and have been using a CJV30-160 for the last few months.

Around two weeks ago I had a battery replace error, swapped out batteries still kept saying battery replace, tried some other things that others suggested but still couldn’t over come the issue.

I ended up contacting Mimaki and they said it’s the main board, so I replaced it everything has been working fine.

Fast forward to today and whilst printing a job the machine stops half way through the job and shuts off. I left it for 5 minutes.

Now each time I try to turn on the machine it’s gets to the choose pinch rollers screen and as soon as I hit enter it says power off and shuts down.

anyone know what could be causing this?

thanks in advance.

Could be a bad sensor or connection.
If is not under Warranty, It is the Weekend and you an take these steps.

I do not have a Mimaki, but when I am trying to hunt down a goblin in a printer.
Shut down, Power OFF, Unplug from Wall Outlet. Hold the Power Button down for 3 seconds.
Turn off Master Power Switch, Then hold down Power switch for 3 seconds.

You should have just cleared out The RAM and trapped power goblins.

While in this State, I open up the printer and CAREFULLY Re-Seat all Ribbons and critical connections.
INSPECT all Ribbon Cables Closely. They cause all kinds of BS problems.
The Long trailing cables for the carriage must not be rubbing or touching any Metal.
If so I use Anti Friction adhesive backed Teflon Tape. This is great to have in the shop,
and reall fricking useful on the laminators too

Have a can of compressed air to clear out dust and debris, and a foam tip cleanning swab
with denatured Alcohol if needed,,,,,,yeah you will know it when you see it.
Then hit it with the air to dry it out.

Close it up and Power Up. If it throws code, write it down and call mimaki.
