Clear coating over gold leaf

I'm looking for a high quality brushable clear coat to brush over some V carved, gilded letters. I used to do a lot of hand painted boat names and used a two part clear that was popular with the boat painters but it was very expensive and had a short shelf life. I've also used One Shot and Frog Juice, but here in Florida these products didn't last long. I am hoping there are some good, new products that I can buy in a small quantity - don't need a gallon.

I would go to your local auto paint jobber and ask about high solids clearcoat. YES I have used it over clear and it lasts!

I use PPG products, high solids clear 2021, with hardener and urethane reducer

I agree with visual. I use a 2 part clear automotive when I need to for truck lettering. I'm questioning why you think you need it on V-carved letters, though, unless they are going on boat quarterboards.
