Commercial plates needed for Window Perf on Back car window?

Hey Guys,

I'm thinking of advertising my printing business on the back window of my vehicle with some window perforated film.
I've seen this done many times, but do I need to have a commercial license plate to do so?
I've asked many friends in the industry, and I get mixed answers, some say yes, I do. Others say no, while others day as long as its promotional and with no address.
I work from my home and just want to put my phone number and website... along with some pictures of flyers and maybe some wall stuff...


What do you all think?
And I'm in New York City, btw.

In Arizona the answer is technically yes but only DOT enforces it.

I'd be more concerned about vehicle insurance. Whole different set of rules when a vehicle is used for business purposes.

Call your DMV and insurance company. They can both answer that pretty quickly.

My insurance company didn't care if I was using my truck for work. They said as long as its primary function was personal transportation all I needed was regular insurance.
