Conflicts with Versaworks

I'm kind of getting drug through the dirt by a designer. I run Versaworks 4 and design in Signlab 8 or CorelDraw X3 and print on a new Roland Sp300i VersaCamm(6 moths new). I keep getting these design eps or pdf files from the designer. I managed to get one to print but it printed some glitches, lines not seen in the design software but apparent in the eps file in Corel,or the Versaworks rip and on the print. The customer wants the printing done right,

The designer says nothing wrong with my files, even though every time I print its wrong. I have also tried to open the pdf files they created in ill for Versaworks, and it says not supported file type. Not sure where to go with this I want it to be right but the designer is too busy pointing fingers at my stuff. First saying I modified the file by grabbing the handles wrong them a cheap printer and no rip, then software glitch. The designer has even had the nerve to suggest that I pay him a consulting fee to have him trouble shoot my stuff, the nerve of him, not cool.

I have the file on CD and it can't be modified. I don't run illy and really don't know how it works. I am in the hole on this job from all the retrys and looking for help. Does anyone know of a glitch in illy or something they may not be doing to make the file compatible with my stuff. If I only had a answer I could give it to the customer to try to get it fixed:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:.

Sounds like you have transparency issues. Certain Illustrator effects don't get interpreted well by Versaworks. Are you getting ghost lines around objects? Can you post a picture?

It might be helpful to post a picture or scan of the messed up print, though it's hard to diagnose without having the actual file to examine.

Tell him to give you a tiff file 100 dpi full size, if they have cut lines, have him place it over in illy, this should solve your problems.

So, assuming those slivers of white are not supposed to be there... are those letters built with multiple lines or with strokes instead of fills?

That was the view in Signlab 8 and same as what I see on Versaworks screen. The small sliver lines are not supposed to be there, but are visible in the screen shot. what I see up close is a edge on the letter that makes it look 3D. The designer doesn't see the lines on his screen, and as a result says they do not exist. He also had another designer look in illy and of course there are no lines. they refuse to look at SignLab 8 or Versaworks without a consult fee payable by me. Any ideas

Any chance you want to send me the pdf? mckeens @ gmail dot com

I'm about done for the night though, so if it's there in the AM I will take a look to see if anything is wonky.
