Corel Draw 2022 blacked out star tool

When I go to try and create a star, the tool is blacked out, wont let me draw anything with it, and no tool options (sides) shows up...anyone ran into this before?

I had a problem with some missing toolbox items like the Dimension tool that I remedied by changing to another workspace...it had changed to the touch workspace or something so changing it to the Illustration or Page layout Workspace brought the missing items back...I had to build out the new workspace by importing my shortcuts and changing a few options to get it back to normal...not same but worth investigating

I had similar issues last week.
apparently it is due to Windows updates. Had to reset back to default workspace.
