Corel X4 trial messed up X3

I have Corel X3 and downloaded a trial of X4. I didn't think it was worth the upgrade price so after the trial ran out I uninstalled X4 because everytime I tried to access the edit bitmap feature to get Corel Photo Paint it brought up a window to continue by purchasing X4:frustrated:.
Anyway, now when I click on edit bitmap it opens MS Paint not Corel Photo Paint! Also all the little thumbnails next to my .cdr files aren't there anymore.
Anyone ever had this happen? have any ideaswhat I should try?
Thanks

Actually I performed a system restore to a date before I installed the X4 trial since I posted this and all is back to normal.
Just so others know what I tried before that here's what I checked:
1) In Corel Draw open tools -options-global-filters-associate....then make sure the CPT file is checked
2) Same as above only in Corel Paint and make sure CDR file is checked.
3) Contacted Corel.....will have to wait for reply
4) Checked back at Signs101 to see if I had replies.....faster than most tech support!
5) Re-booted
Tried all of the above (except # 3)
Then I did the system restore

By the way S'N'S....I'll try your suggestion if something like this happens again.
Hope this will help others and thanks for your replies!

I had the same problem with it opening in MS paint and ended up after trying F8 and every other suggestion reinstalling X3.

That's what I was trying to avoid and fortunately I didn't have too. A friend of mine that works for the city put X4 on his computer and never has been able to get Corel Paint to open with "edit bitmap", it is greyed out completely as well as his visual basics. He re-installed and still the same thing. I thought maybe a firewall is blocking the options and to call Corel since they just purchased it .....well see what happens.

went to the corel forum and posted this problem and this is the response I received!

Use the X3 CD and run a Repair. Should take care of the issue.

Or heres a free macro for Bimap fix
