cut file only in flexi

This is probably the easiest thing to do and I have no idea why I am not getting it to work. I have been using flexi for years but apparently was printing and cutting the hard way. I just started importing directly to the production manager to print and contour cut from illustrator. My problem is I can't figure out how to do a cut only file and open it in the production manager. I am guessing it is because I am saving it with the contour cut marks but wasn't sure if I need to save it as something else in order to only do a cut file and not print first. For some reason when I try opening the file in flexi like I used to and cutting directly from flexi it just freezes now so I can't even go back to doing it how I used to.
