Does anyone have any input as to die cutting from a Roland Sp-540v? Was wondering if I could print stickers and die cut them?

I think that in VersaWorks you can use the die cut feature with the SP-540. I know I have with my VP-540 and it works good. You just have to setup the proper cut line to the VersaWorks what to do. Which is an easy process.

By die cutting are we talking about cutting our the whole sticker and backing paper together or simple round contour cutting? I contour cut but that is all I thought that I could do. I have an XC

I die cut decals all the time, but I am doing it on a graphtec. I imaging the process should be pretty similar, if you're interested in how I do it shoot me a PM, pretty simple but I'll type it up for ya.

I do the die, or perf cut as Roland calls it, where it cuts through the backing and all. You just have to create a new spot color, like your cutcontour one, and label it PerfCutContour. It has worked very well for me on my VP. I know it is a feature in VersaWorks, so you should be able to do it on your XC as well.
